Visit Gibbon Falls. This 84-foot (26-meter) waterfall tumbles over remnants of the Yellowstone Caldera rim.

Mammoth Hot Springs is Yellowstone’s only major thermal area located well outside the Yellowstone Caldera. The terraces change constantly—sometimes noticeable within a day.

Artist’s Point is a popular park destination. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is roughly 20 miles long, measured from the Upper Falls to the Tower Fall area. The canyon was formed by erosion as Yellowstone River flowed over progressively softer, less resistant rock.
